A cinematic Scandinavian shoreline at first light: frost crystals on dark sand and driftwood, a glassy calm sea reflecting a thin moon that is fading into sunrise. A lone figure stands at the waterline, placing a small stone into the tide as a shadow softens and dissolves into wet mud. Heavy clouds split open with a narrow band of warm gold, while pale blue haze and faint smoke-like mist drift across the sky.

Lyrics

## Verse 1
A thin rim of ice on the driftwood by the shore
Morning comes in slowly through a half-closed door
I count the gulls like prayers I never learned to keep
And let the silence teach my bloodstream how to sleep

### Chorus
*There’s a tide in my ribs, pulling back, pulling through,*
*Every wave says “leave,” and every echo says “you”*
*In the pale blue hush where the horizon turns to gold,*
*I unclench my hands and watch the old love fold*

## Verse 2
Your letters live like smoke inside a winter coat
I wear them on my skin, then try to learn to float
The sea keeps every syllable I threw away in fear
And brings it back at night, then disappears

### Chorus
*There’s a tide in my ribs, pulling back, pulling through,*
*Every wave says “leave,” and every echo says “you”*
*In the pale blue hush where the horizon turns to gold,*
*I unclench my hands and watch the old love fold*

## Verse 3
I take your shadow to the mud and set it down
Not as a punishment, just letting it be found
The boots that carried me can carry me again
Over quiet stones, beyond the bend

### Chorus
*There’s a tide in my ribs, pulling back, pulling through,*
*Every wave says “leave,” and every echo says “you”*
*In the pale blue hush where the horizon turns to gold,*
*I unclench my hands and watch the old love fold*

## Verse 4
Between the clouds a softer light begins to stay
The water holds the moon, then gives it back to day
If peace is only seconds, let it touch my face
Here at the edge of everything, I find my place

### Chorus
*There’s a tide in my ribs, pulling back, pulling through,*
*Every wave says “leave,” and every echo says “you”*
*In the pale blue hush where the horizon turns to gold,*
*I unclench my hands and watch the old love fold*

## Bridge
I used to bargain with the dark for one last sign
But the ocean doesn’t answer, it just keeps its time
So I lay my wanting down where seaweed meets the sand
And listen as it loosens from my hands

## Solo (instrumental)
[Fingerpicked acoustic guitar pattern with space between phrases]
[Sparse felt piano answering notes, long tail reverb]
[Swell: bowed strings or ambient pad, distant low toms]
[Lead: clean electric guitar melody, slow vibrato, wide stereo reverb]

## Bridge (reprise)
Let the ice turn into water, let the smoke turn into air
Let the heart learn what it’s holding wasn’t living there
If your name is a stone, I’ll set it in the sea
And walk into the light until it walks in me

## Outro
Tideglass at dawn… it clears, then it’s gone
I breathe your name once more… then I move on
